A Letter to Our Wonderful Customers!
Dear lovely supporter of The Happy Woman and reader of small business newsletters,
I automatically assume that a small retail business supporter is a good human and in very few cases have I been proven wrong. It takes a person with generosity, compassion, and humanity to pay a little (or a lot) more, to forgo comfortable couch shopping to make their way to a downtown or destination, and to take a genuine interest in how the business fares.
It takes a person who can see the big picture: that small businesses employ 61 million people, support local organizations with money and freebies (and actually care about those places) and improve economic conditions in areas by being a draw for consumers (who also eat and play and stay there).
Guess what? That person is you! And I’m here to say thank you for supporting this small business for 26 years.
The big news is that 2025 will be our last year operating The Happy Woman in Suttons Bay. We all know that big decisions contain a zillion emotions and I’m feeling them all. I will miss seeing you, I will miss the process of doing the things that make a business work, and making the store look pretty. On the other hand, I’m looking forward to more free time, more travels, and maybe trying my hand at some weird stuff. I mean, why not. Also, I’m a little scared, not gonna lie!
In the meantime, we’ll be opening on April 5th and we’ve got a stellar year planned for you! We want to be your safe and happy place through 2025.
I want to thank you without saying thank you but all other phrases seem kind of fake. You helped another person live their dream. Just think of that! You are really something special.
Xxoo,
Linda
